Dycem CleanZone Floating Floor Systems
The Dycem CleanZone Floating Floor Systems give you the benefits of Dycem contamination control without needing permanent installation. First, these Floating Mats are loose-laid and ready-to-use right away. Therefore, you can easily move them, making them a versatile choice when permanent installation to the subfloor is not possible.
Furthermore, the mats are ideal for facilities with raised flooring, access tiles, or areas under construction. The Dycem material features a natural tack that traps and retains particulates from shoes and wheels. In addition, the surface energy of the material draws additional particulate out of the air. Finally, with a surface resistivity of ohms, the mats are also static dissipative.
Why Floating Mats?
Contamination control in non-permanent flooring areas challenges quality managers and facilities professionals. Traditional solutions, such as sticky mats, shoe covers, and foot baths, often fall short. Consequently, they create compliance risks, ongoing replacement costs, and unnecessary waste.
Dycem Floating Mats use the same proven polymeric technology as our permanent systems. Therefore, they meet stringent regulatory standards while offering complete flexibility in placement. You can easily reposition or remove them, making them ideal for leased spaces, temporary zones, and high-traffic pathways.
Furthermore, Dycem floating mats deliver significant cost savings over their lifespan with a 3+ year lifespan and minimal maintenance requirements. They inhibit microbe growth and support your facility’s sustainability goals, unlike disposable alternatives.
How Dycem Foating Mats Work
Dycem Floating Mats feature a naturally tacky surface. First, this surface attracts, captures, and retains up to 99.9% of foot- and wheel-borne contaminants on contact. Furthermore, the mats secure contaminants to the surface using Van der Waals forces—microscopic electromagnetic interactions—until you clean the mat.
Unlike disposable sticky mats, Floating Mats maintain their high performance even after many overstrikes in the same spot. Their non-adhesive base allows you to easily place, reposition, and remove them. Therefore, they are ideal for any area where permanent installation isn’t possible.
Tips for Use
- Keep the area where Dycem Floating mats are placed clear and free from obstacles such as bins, crates, carts, or racks.
- Ensure no heavy items or equipment are left on the Dycem surface for prolonged periods of time.
- During usage, your Dycem Floating mats may look dirty. This is good and shows that the product is working to keep contamination out of your critical environments.
- Slight scuffing may appear if shoes frequently drag across the Dycem mat in high-traffic areas, however, this does not affect performance.
- Floating Mats are not adhered to the subfloor; cleaning underneath is required for optimal contamination control.
