The Transforming Technologies Spartan CM310 Two Single Wire Constant Monitor continuously tests single wire wrist straps and ESD work surfaces. The CM310 not only eliminates the need for time-consuming wrist strap testing but also mitigates the risk of wrist strap failure in the field, which could expose sensitive materials to static damage. It features both audible and visual alarms that activate if the wrist straps or work surface grounds fail. Housed in a robust metal case with integrated mounting brackets, the monitors can be mounted under tabletops to conserve workspace. The Spartan series monitors comply with or surpass ANSI ESD S20.20 standards.

Why Use a Single Wire Constant Monitor

The first and best line of defense against static damage is wrist strap grounding, but these wrist straps wear over time and must be tested to ensure they are working properly. ESD Constant monitors reduce production costs by eliminating the time spent on testing wrist straps before each shift. Further savings may be realized by reduced ESD damage from broken wrist straps. Single wire wrist straps are the most commonly available straps and the CM310 is designed to work with them.

Capacitance Technology

The CM310 sends out a signal through the wrist strap that detects the capacitance of the person and ground. When both are present, the monitor goes into an unalarmed state. If the electrical connection to the person or to ground should fail, the circuit will go into the alarm state to signal there is a problem.

Calibration
The Spartan constant monitors are factory calibrated and will never need recalibration.
