Botron Single Operator and Mat Continuous Monitor

The Botron Single Operator and Mat Continuous Monitor provides an entry-level solution for monitoring personnel grounding at the workbench. Unlike resistance-based monitors, this device detects capacitance in single-conductor (single-wire) ESD wrist straps. In addition to wrist strap monitoring, it offers the added benefit of continuously monitoring the worksurface (ESD mat) and the integrity of the ground connection. The monitor features a built-in LED for local visual alerts and a small piezo buzzer that provides a clear audible alert to the operator at the bench.

This continuous monitoring is crucial because simply verifying single-wire ESD wrist straps with a separate ESD tester does not guarantee continuous protection. A wrist strap could fail, or the operator might exceed the allowable resistance to ground while working, potentially exposing sensitive electronic components to electrostatic discharge.
